to be honest man, i dont think the rears are worth doing cuz you gotta upgrade the brake booster....im not feeling that much worrk...ill most likely just get bigger rotors in the rear, and slap on some ebc or hawk hps pads and its a done deal..but i will look into it..

yea some times mostly cuz you have to change the brake booster...

Rears aren't over rated, but they are easily over upgraded, especially in a front wheel drive car.

The key is balance between front/rear brake bias.

In a panic stop on my B13, the Maxima rears overpower the NX2000 fronts on my B13, which is why I'm looking at this Z32 upgrade.

I have read that bolt on rear upgrades for a B15 include Spec V Brembo rears which have 10.94 diameter, 9mm thick rear rotors or the the 2000-2003(A33) Maxima rear caliper which also uses a 10.94 diameter, 9mm thick rear rotor.

^however the brembo rear caliper isnt any different. its the same caliper, different bracket to allow for a larger rotor and pad. same brake booster and everything. the issue becomes sourcing that bracket however. im not too sure if its the same as the maxima's or not. it wouldnt suprise me if it was.

Good info but not always the case, you can overcome brake bias by changing the distribution of the fluid, thereby putting more or less pressure per square inch on caliper(s) front or rear. .

also another good point made...

Yeah, this is were it starts to get complicated, finding a balance between the correct brakes size, the proper proportioning valve bias, and pounds per square inch of pressure to the calipers.

The guys without ABS have more options because you can swap proportioning valves between master cylinders of the same make. Sort of mix and match to meet your needs.

My 92 SE-R has ABS, so the proportioning valve is a one piece unit mounted on the firewall, which limits my options.
The SE-R proportioning valve put out about 200 psi less to the front brakes than the NX2000 proportioning valve, so I wasn't getting the full benefit of the NX2k front brake upgrade.

When I swapped in the NX2000 proportioning valve, I had the correct psi to the front brakes but it also increased the psi to the rear brakes, so with the upgraded Maxima rear calipers I now have rear brake bias.

Without going to the trouble and expense of an after market proportioning valve, the next step is to upgrade the front brakes to match the characteristics of the NX proportioning valve and the Maxima rear brakes I already have.

I'm thinking the Z32 front brakes will do the trick. If I end up a little biased to the front brakes, well... better front bias than rear.

Did you ever finish this install? What rotors did you end up using and how was the fit?
