Clutch/Flywheel/Pressure Plate Combos
Does anyone know if a Jim Wolf Flywheel, an ACT Clutch and a Jim Wolf Stage 2 Pressure Plate will work together? I have em bolted up and torqued down and the pressure plate fingers seem like they are too far in. Its as if they all aren't compatible together, the Throwout bearing doesn't seem to meet the pressure plate soon enough, and the full throw of the arm isn't enough. Does anyone know of anything like this?

I don't see why they wouldn't. Also do yourself a favor and get rid of that ACT before the springs pop out and destroy your trans.

Odd never had a problem with Exedy discs. I haven't heard anything about yellow springs, but still hear about ACT disk failure a lot.

All the ACT horror stories led me to go with a FX300 from Clutchmasters. "8 puck" full carbon kevlar disc. Should hold north of 300whp/wtq.

I should be installing it here at the end of the month when I get some time.

ya, apparantly the new gen's of act's have yellow springs, thats how you dont get an older one which is still floating around plenty. id say the ones that are still failing are the old ones. now in 2-3 years, lets see what happens since the old ones will be weeded out. if they arent failling then, the new gen's are probably good.

Im running the same combo : Act copper metalic disc (yellow springs) with jwt 8.7 flywheel and jwt stage 2 presure plate . So far the Act is doing well after a few trips down the drag strip.
