You have an obd2. I'm currently suffering from the same issue.Yu can scratch the cps cuz it won't start if it was bad.to diagnose my problem I checked my codes and had a faulty knock sensor.replaced that.cleaned the throttlebody cleaned egr and replaced vacuum lines some were rather frail. Cleaned maf. The exhaustmanifold was missing.g a stud.extracted and replaced threw in the header changed temp sending unit rear mount(because of the jerk feeling )starter.once start up. I forgot to plug in the iacv plug but car still idled but irregularly.once plugged back in car ran ok took it on a round trip to Florida 3thousand miles roughly car still idled but went clutch is depressed it tries to stall but doesn't now.weather didn't make a difference.my next step is to change the iacv with a new unit along with speed sensor and coolant temp because of codes.I def can say the iacv is most likely your culprit along with some vacuum leaks and possibly resounding is necessary.your iacv on your car is located. Onthe pass side of your upper plentum very easy to replace unbolt
unplug and replace plus new gasket. Hope this helps sir

I would start replacing vacuum hoses that seem cracked or are hardened from engine heat.

Then I would try to set the idle and ignition. You need to be in timing mode for this. Basically the ECU is continously regulating the amount of air coming in the engine by steering a solenoid which is the AAC. You might want to try to clean this too.

It can be a little hard doing this the first time but this are the cheap things to try before getting another AAC for example, since those aren't very cheap new. And getting a secondhand one which doesn't solve the problem isn't helpful either if you are not experienced with how the engine idles and why it needs this regulators (it wouldn't idle at all if it hadn't)

I'm not expecting a bad CAS or a bad MAF, however the latter can be pretty worn and also doesn't come cheap from the dealer. You might want to try to clean the MAF.

Basically you need to check all your sensors and indeed check for codes. Also download the FSM if you haven't already.
