Weak ignition signal
My arch enemy has reread his head again. Last time it happened it was the plug to the power transistor that was bad. Now I don't know what the hell it is this time. I tested the same wire that goes back to the ecu from the plug to 6" behind it and it was good. Spun the dizzy heard all 4 injectors click away and saw the coil arking hard to the ground cable on the Tstat housing. I took it off and inspected it and found the boot had a hole in it. Wrapped it with some tape but I would like to OHM it. Can't seem to find what the ohms are suppose to be on the coil plug wire? I thought it was my dizzy because the car did this last week friday so I borrowed my friends dizzy swapped it in and it fired right up like a champ. Yesterday it started to stumble then misfire and stalled out, I got it started again and it cleared up long enough for me to get it home before it started to misfire again.

Probably not your solution, but when it happened to me, it was that the ecu was not screwed down all the way. I think it had a bad ground

might be I haven't got that far yet, I was just doing some basic testing from the engine bay 1st and things look good there. I have to pull the ecu off and test to the pins.

Tape wont cut it ! You need to replace the coil wire as any moisture under the hood from heavy rain will cause it to arc even with eletrical tape Quick way to test is spray a fine mist on it with a spray bottle . As far as ohm i belive its the same plug wires 1k ohm per foot (dont hold me to that ) .

Well after testing end to end per the FSM I found nothing wrong!. So I put some more gas into the car and it fired up. SOB I think the walmart 190lph pump must be going bad because my gas light didn't even come on at all this time. I still need to order new coil wire but it makes smoke now.
