Coolant Sensor Thead pitch
just wondering what the thread pitch is on the coolant sensor on the side of the engine that gives the cluster a reading. I was wanting to use my 1/8 npt aftermarket gauge temp sender and was wondering if it would thread in there. Im tired of having a spliced radiator hose and water adapter. Thanks guys

I don't think it will thread in there, I know its a different thread pitch but I don't remember off hand, what about tapping the water neck, or getting one of those spacers that go between the water neck and the block?

I agree just tap the water neck its a clean simple way to do it just tap it on the bottom and you wont even notice its there.

The gauge sensor is fatter than your 1/8 npt after market sensor. Best place to pull water temp from if you can not use stock location is to get it after the head. So tap the coolant out let. If you have a vvl head some don't have the dash sensor location drilled out so you can drill/tap for your after market sensor. This is what I did.

Get one of the CS adaptor blocks from greg V...or drill and tap one the bottom like other people have said.

Do this. Cheaper than buying the CS adapter and it works perfectly.

^ that right there is what I want to do...

Do you know if all the sensors are the same length? at least judging by a quick eye comparison between your pic and my sensor, I think my sensor wont fit in there. I have an autometer water temp gauge...

Im not sure. I run a VDO gauge.
