Thread: Somethings broken =/

Okay so all of a sudden i cant put my car in first, third, or fifth gear with out grinding. Sometimes it goes in, once its in it wont pop out. I don't know whats going on, second, fourth, and reverse work fine. Any help would be appretiated. I'm thinking i need a tranny.

Clutch works fine in 2nd 4th and reverse ? Linkage broken off or shifter rod bolt check at the tranny first if not its inside and time for a rebuild .! All the gears are down that work and the ones that dont work are foward witch is why i would look at the linkage first

Yea I was just under the car, linkage at the tranny is all tight, linkage at the shifter is all tight also. Thats what i was hoping for, a quick fix. But its something else. If i have to rebuild this tranny I'll end up completely ruining my dreams of going fast and buying wheels for an sr16 tranny.

If all is good under the car then is most likley a internal issue like a shift/syncro fork . I can rebuild em if you were local but a sr16 trans is a good trans but if you have the cash go with a b15 5spd as its stronger and quicker 1st 2nd 3rd . Stock b14 trans run about $300-400 from the junk yards. If you can get a b13/b14 broken case trans go for it and swap the case for yours .
