Just wondering....if I need just a 1-wire O2 sensor, will a stock sensor work just using the signal wire? Without hooking up the pos and neg wires for heat?
Oh. I finally got a wideband setup, and was giving my old gauge to a friend. He just needed an O2 sensor. Didn't know if I could just give him one of my spare stock sensors.
Ahh there is an easy fix for that, the one that I will be running myself. You don't want to run the wideband sensor in the front O2 sensor place. I believe you need at least 36" inches from engine or Turbo.
What I'm going to do is run the Wideband in the DP, then have the signal wire going to the stock wire. Still have the stock front O2 hooked up so that it fills the hole and has a place to put the heater energy to. Otherwise you get a nice cell and a possible short.
I got another O2 bung to weld on for my setup. I'm good on my end.
I had a narrow-band gauge that I was giving to a friend. I tried to tell him either get a wideband, or don't bother....but he doesn't care. I told him to get any real result with the narrow-band, it would be best to use a 3rd sensor just for the gauge, and not try to use the existing O2 sensors. He just needed a sensor to use with it.
