IMO, this sort of logic doesn't really fly. The b13 se-r is more desirable than any year/generation that Nissan made the car. I'll give you it is the oldest, but that has nothing to do with it's level of desirability with car enthusiasts.
I am into bmw e30s and the prices of them have been on the rise the past couple years. It is getting very hard to find clean cars for sale. They generally command better prices than the newer (non m3) e36 cars. They are commanding more money because the market has deemed them more desirable. Similar situation with the 240sx scene, try finding one of those cheaply now.
I am not defending the car in question by any means, but only a nissan enthusiast would think of comparing/cross shopping a b13 to a p11. The p11 wasn't on C&D drivers top 10 cars for 4 years and it was never compared to the universally loved bmw 2002.
Through attrition, the prices for nice b13 cars have to rise- not by the amount of the car posted here for sale.......By how much and how fast is beyond me....All I do know for sure is that is damn hard to find a nice classic these days.
I think you're undermining or not realizing the importance also that as time goes on, the number of people looking for the car GOES DOWN, proportional to the age of the car. It evens out over time. Also, as time goes on only the good ones will still be around, but the price desired for them will stay the same(except say for increases in inflation).
Look at the scene..hardly any parts being made for these cars anymore. This isn't the hayday of the B13/B14 anymore. Interest is going down as the car ages, not up.
Price will not go up unless it's found that unicorn blood is found in the chassis of all B13 Sentras. Sorry, let's get real. This isn't a 1970 Chevelle that EVERY kid at school wanted. It's a Sentra.
