IACV Problems/ Issues
Hey guys! My car is a b13 se-r and I've been having idling issues as well as cold start problems. I haven't cleaned the IACV valve yet but I disconnected the valve while the car is idling and it does nothing (meaning no changes in the car's RPM). Does that mean the valve doesnt work anymore? Also, if I pull it out to clean it...does it have a gasket?

It has a gasket, and getting it back on with the new gasket is a pain. Did disconnecting the IACV affect the idling issues or cold start problems?

Not at all....Thats the reason why im thinking the IACV is bad. I don't see any changes when disconnected.

I was having stalling and cold idle issues (wandering idle) and disconnecting the IACV didn't change it. Turned out that my MAF was bad. If you pull off the IACV, make sure you use a new gasket and do a great job of cleaning the old gasket off both sides. Because of how hard it was to get down there, I didn't do a good job the first time, slapped it back on, and it was leaking. So I had to do it all again. Save yourself that pain!
