Along w/other's advice, keep a tool box w/basic tools in your trunk, along w/various automotive(and/or human) lubricants/fluids.

Not too long of a trip...car will do fine as long as it's currently running fine.

I like your preparation list. For some encouragement the GA16 should get you there just fine. I've done Atlanta to dallas, and Atlanta to NY several times in my XE. My prep list wasn't as extensive as yours and my car had much more mileage than yours. I basically was like this thing is a beater, lets see if it gets me to these places. It did.

AAA is a great idea. I second that.

what does mikos alty have better then anybody else with one? i got mine from napa which happens to have high quality parts compared to autozone and advance. i went through 6 altys from Autozone and i would never go buy mine from them again. Went to napa and never had a problem again
