I guess I'll post this here. A year after buying this thing I finally put it on the car. And then 2 months later I posted up the install. Check it out.

Shift linkage urethane bushing install

Gomba, you might get a good idea of how long of a bolt you need from those pics. If you have the bushing in your possession you could measure it. I still have one left if you want me to measure it when I get home.

np man, you made a good point. I'll use the current bushing to measure the length. Also, good write up. I plan on doing the ES shifter bushing as well, did you have any problems doing that one?

The ES shifter bushing is a pretty easy install. Took me all of maybe 10 minutes with the car on a lift. Taking out the old 170k mile rubber bushing and replacing it with the poly bushing helped a ton finding gears. Smooth as butter now.

Yep, the other shifter bushing is super simple to install.

Awesome thanks for the advice. Reading through all old threads, it seems the only thing I have to worry about are those bolts on the shift stabilizer. A lot of people seem to have them rusted on and have to replace them. I'm really hoping I don't have to do that I'm going to soak those bolts really well w/some PB Blaster. If they break, looks like I'll be riding my bike to Lowes to get some replacements lol Living in an apartment complex w/out a garage or backup car can make things a little tricky at times

yep. I've had this for a while. Good mod. Make sure you grease the bushing or else it squeaks

Well, I was cutting the bushing tonight because I thought I'd just use the original bolt. I somehow, don't know how, ended up putting a crack in the bushing. So basically there's a horizontal hairline split through half the bushing. Can I still use it like this or should I try on the other one?

!EDIT! Well, never mind, I tried cutting the other one and the same thing happened. I guess the friction from cutting the bushing ended up breaking the bushing in half. I'm surprised this hasn't happened to other people...maybe everyone else has a sharper knife or I have super-human strength ;/

!EDIT2! Hmmmm, are they supposed to be this way? Check out Serban's photos and you can see the same thing that happened to me. Maybe they were like this originally...I didn't take a good look at them before I started cutting. Either that or this happens with most people.

You have 2 might as well try the other one. Find a longer bolt. that works well. I used that method.
