Disconnect catchcan. Connect rubber hose in place.

Win.

That has to be the absolute easiest question I've seen on here in days!

Cliff is right, Ben is too.

Good read, if I'm not mistaken there is more then one sticky about the circulation of blow by gasses in the engine and why it has this system and how the stuff works.

Just putting a hose there and not looking after it or before it (what Ben posted) is a gamble.

Caveats are not passing smog and detonation because of oil particles floating in your intake air.

But that is just in general, your setup might vary :P

Or plan B, get a VE valve cover. Replace stock DE cover, attach single hose to VE valve cover and call it a day. The catch can is built in the VE valve cover and will fit 91-99 DEs. Unsure about the 00-01 RR model though. I have a VE VC on my 91 highport and it's working like a charm. On for 6 months and has survived track days and the daily drive, no problems whatsoever. Use either the VE or 00-01 RR PCV valve for the rubber grommet in the VE cover.

Will the ve v/c fit a det head also?

I think the VE and RR valve covers are the same as well. DET head uses the same VC as a regular DE, so yes it will work.

I also was super happy to find out it was that easy with my DET.

  1. Get VE Cover
  2. Remove VE Badge
  3. Re powder coat

Viola No more black box. RR COVER DOES NOT WORK on 91-99 DE's
