Thread: Bad gas mileage!!!! D:

make sure your gas tanks not leaking, that happened to my buddy.

I only put in like 5 at a time since I have other things to pay for too. It usually gets me roughly 1/4 tank each time. I know my gas tank isn't leaking, no gas on the ground. Lol but maybe a change of my fuel filter would be a good idea. What brands make good filters?

Leaky exhaust

Well there is your fail. Save enough money to fill your tank up 100%, then fill it up at 50 miles, and bam you only will fill it up $5 at a time and you will get accurate MPG numbers.

Fuel evaporates, by leaving your tank half empty, you are giving it a lot of room to turn into gas vs being a liquid. Hence your gas mileage will seem smaller.

I was getting bad gas mileage when I had my radio in. Thats why I took it out.

Another note, that isn't noteworthy being you spend the same in the end...

I've noticed I get a solid extra 2MPG by filling up with 93 octane instead of 87. Car also feels much stronger running on 93.

Unfortunately, stations in the area like to sell 85, 87, and 89...Some 91. I was very happy to find a place in the town I work in that sells 89, 91, and 93

My durango had those issues.. Radio lowered MPGs... But, it was my "Bass Machine", consisting of 4x 18" Kicker Solo X, 4x Kicker 4500w mono amps, 8 Kinetik power cells, 0g wiring all around, etc.

MPG Before install: 18city/24hwy
MPG After install: 12city/20hwy

Check your timing, a stock B14/B13 should run in 87 only. Running higher octane should decrease your gas mileage.
