Need Help ASAP
I have a Bluebird SR20DET which to my understanding has a compression of 8:5.1 Now my question concerns my JWT ECU programmed for Z32 MAF, 555cc, and 9:5.1 Does this mean that I have to get the ECU reprogrammed for the same compression or are there any alternatives?

*I'm asking for help not rude comments and if this question was ever asked I sure didn't find it*

It will work but the tune is not optimized for the compression ratio you have ....I would think you could advance the distributer possibly a hair to try to compansate though , make sure you use good premium fuel though

Mine was the other way around for a while. I was running an ECU programmed for 10:1cr on an 11.5:1cr sr20de. It ran but the timing was more advanced and it was a hell of a lot more jerky when coming off throttle.

Run it if you have no other choice, but if you want your car to feel "good" and run smoothly it would be a good idea to get a 8.5 tune, it will be a bit more aggressive when you are in boost. Out of boost, they should be just about the same.
