IIRC correctly, that is the correct weight. Use GL-4 rated oil, not GL-5 which can be detrimental to the health of your transmission. Red Line MT-90 works very well and will improve the way that your tranny shifts as well as help a little with gas mileage.
I like the Valvoline 85w-140 for turbo applications. Its not soo thick that it wont flow correctly through the bearings and journals but it definetly has enough cushion in it that you can feel it when you shift and let the clutch back out.
75w-90= broken 3rd and 4th gear about 1 a month
85w-140=6 months of use and still in perfect condition

Why not an ATF Dexron II or III oil ? Most of the Nissan manual gearboxes came with a reddish oil (guess it is ATF) from the factory. It should have better viscosity in both low and high temperatures , so should lube the gears/synchros better.
75W90 is what is specified in the Factory Service Manual. If you want to use a synthetic, and can get find one that's available, it will help your shifting, especially in cold weather. Stay away from GL-5 rated oils - you want GL-4.
