Grinding noise...need help.
So I replaced the passenger side motor mount in my car last week to find that my car has another problem. I couldn't hear it before because the motor mount was so bad, the whole car was vibrating.

Anyway, I get a grinding sound during acceleration that vibrates through the gas pedal, and when I make right hand turns. It seems to go away if I press the clutch in, which is weird. I'll have to double check this tonight to make sure. On decel I can hear what sounds like the transmission making a grinding sound.

Any ideas?

check your other motor mounts and brackets.

The previous owner said that he replaced all the others. I can double check to make sure though. He also said he replaced the clutch, but the throwout bearing is making a lot of noise, so I'm not sure what to believe. Wish I still had his number.

You can jack it up and see if it makes noise with no load

Looked around last night a bit, and the only thing I can see is that the bracket on the transmission is missing a bolt. (should have three?) And that the bracket is bent a little on the bottom. Everything else looks sound, including the rubber mount.

i just went through this. on Sat. umm its either 2 things your throw out bearing is bad. or which seem to be the problem with mine. one of those clutch springs. on the clutch plate is loose. and the vibration gives it the grinding sound. mine was horrible. but i drop the tranny and swap clutch and throw out bearing. an it was fine from there

Thanks, I was afraid of that. I did notice the clutch chatters a bit starting from a dead stop. Found an Exedy clutch kit with 13lbs flywheel on ebay for $279, so I might just do that. Hopefully the car will remain drivable for the next couple weeks though.

Edit: I'm still confused why it makes the grinding sound while turning right though...

Check your dust shields to make sure they arent scraping your rotors.

Yeah, could check that. Weird how all this stuff popped up after I changed the passenger side motor mount.

Looked around a bit more last night and can't find a damn thing that looks wrong. I'm going to put a jack under the transmission and pull the drivers side mount off on Saturday and look it over a little closer. Can't find anything rubbing when the wheel is turned to the right. Only thing is some of the CV boot grease is oozing out, but that shouldn't have anything to do with this.
