hmm to behonest i think it did slide right in.. but then again i may recall it may have needed some tapping..

take the axle bracket bolts out of the engine, get a 5+lb sledge an whack that sumbitch on the axle bracket.. dont be scared, hit it like it f'd your girl friend it'll pop out.

So heres the update. I was finally able to get the axle out today. It turns out all you need is a bash or a big ass sledge hammer. It took about 10 whacks with it but it finally popped out. Before I took out the sledge I used a 18 in crowbar pushing as hard as i can and it did not budge. I was about to give up when i thought, fuck it ill use the sledge. So if anyone has trouble just use a bigger hammer. There was a little piece of metal that came out with the axle and it looked like the axle was just barely rubbing on the inside of the transmission and thats why it kept getting stuck. I felt the splines and they were perfectly fine so i put the new one in and bam it works perfect. here are some pictures of the axle. You can tell that the end was messed up a little bit. And that sledge hammer is the one i had to use. The slide hammer didnt do anything but im sure for a regular axle it would have worked.
