Almost no brakes in rear?
Ok for a while now I have had barely any rear brake pressure and my ebrake only works when all the way up. front brakes are fine and will lock up but the rears barely work. The only thing I did was change the rotors the brake lines have never been disconnected. Pads have 60% life in rear. Calipers arnt leaking and I didnt have the tool so I spun the pistons back in with pliers.Whats the problem?

Nah they used to be good its a 98 200SX SE-R. I got 3 friends with B14 SE-Rs and they all stop hard as hell. My brakes feel like they work as hard as I push the pedal. My friends car feels like you push the pedal softly and the brakes do the work. Like I said, I just had to replace my fronts and the back pads are still great plus my ebrake barely works. Ever since I did rotors.

were your pads worn evenly when you did them?

Yes. One side was worn a hair more but barely noticable.

start by bleeding the brakes , you will go thru ALOT go thru a few bottles until it comes out .

chances are that has not been done to the car in a while and in our nice florida heat that oil will cook , not to mention during spirited driving .

also check your ebrake cable these also strech over the years and should be replaced .

hope this helps

I was thinking the cable but it was excellent when I got the car. Plus the regular brakes dont do anything in the rear so its the caliper in some form. I'll try mass bleeding.

Also if you have the ad22s up front than its kinda normal. My rears are the same just about cool to the touch afyter driving.
