Coolant temp switch/fans question
Alright, so the ects is accurate all the way up to 210*F, as I can verify with consult as well as my aftermarket gauge. Conzult is able to turn the fans on with my ecutalk cable, yet the readings show 205*f and the fans aren't kicking on by themselves.

Any ideas?

No, that would mean the relay is still good.

Don't the fans kick on at 212*F on a factory tune?

Cliff says so anyway.

Antifreeze raises the boiling point of water. Also being under pressure does the same thing. So coolant systems run hotter than you'd expect (to promote clean burn in the cylinder) but obviously still need to do their main job of saving the head from heat failure.

I've gotten anything from on at 205/off 195 to 210 to 215...sigh.

212 was always what I knew, but my fans don't kick on automatically anymore so my personal verification of that isn't happening.
