Definitely a little ticky, but it doesn't sound like rod knock to me.

Original tensioner. I think I need the updated version.

This is something else I am considering. I am popping the valve cover later today. I think my exhaust cam jumped one tooth. I took the upper chain guide piece off to eliminate those noises and with my tensioner (possibly) taking a dump, I am going to put the upper chain guide back on today.

This here internets is killing me. I ge told one think, then another, than I think another. I should be happy with how my car runs. Pretty flawless. I hear a tick, knock, creak, anything and I freak out. I am paranoid about it.

Videos coming soon, pics coming soon of the inside. All that good stuff. It is a nice day out today and I hope to get some good ones for everyone here.

Like I said before, I saw about 5 videos of other people on this forum with rod knock and nothing in my car sounds like the videos I saw earlier.

Thanks for the views, friends!

to me it almost definitly sounds like a tensioner chatter. could be wrong, but it sounds like it. cause me personally i can almost chear it at just idle, defitinly sounds like a chatter verse a knock.

given the fact that you need a ''updated'' version, it could be time to replace the tensioner and go from there

you can try removing the top timing chain guide, this too can cuase this sort of ''knock'' sound or ''chatter sound'' from the timing chain rubbing against the top timing guide.

however i do believe this mod was done after they made the updated timing chain tensioner version and idd away with the top guide so you might wan to wait on that.

one thing i do recomend doing is remove the top timing chain guide and see if there are any grooves or work in indentions in it if not then thats probbably not the problem
