Thread: Oil pressure problems - Sender or engine?

Just noticed this past saterday that my oil pressure gauge has been acting a bit wonky. At idle it usually sits at 18psi but now it will sit at 30psi. Also I have a problem if I get on it, it will top out at about 70psi and then will 'stick' at 50psi at idle sometimes. Rev the engine and it will come back down to 30ish. Gauge does a full sweep on start up so I know its not the gauge. Any ideas what this could be?

mine normaly sits @ 50 until up to 180-190* then around 15ish.....


in the morn if i dont let it warm up, ill be up around 60-70psi...after it warms up, it acts normall

All pressures stated was with the oil at 190*F 10w-30 mobil1 full synth.
