Barf. I'm wondering if junkyard axles would be better.... but SE-R's are so rare.

Check your wheel bearings! Remove the wheels and brake pads and spin the hub with the trans. in neutral (even better if the axles are out).

I just went through this with my car, swore it was axles! Replacement axles had different damper etc.... Turned out to be a driver side wheel bearing.

Can a bad wheel bearing screw up both sides?

There is no weird 'dead spot' or grinding noise on either of the front wheels. BUT... i put new brakes and rotors on the fronts and the driver's side brake has always had a rhythmic scraping sound so you may be on to something!!

It has been smoking hot so i haven't gone out and checked yet... soon enough..

Before you replace anything else do yourself a favor and check them as I suggested with pads and axles removed (from the hub only). This way you have zero friction and will know if they are bad...

I'm having a similar issue, I have a feeling its the bearings and in my case the shitty axles. If I turn the wheel slighty to either side the vibration stops. So when funds are up OEM axles fresh bearings and realignment...

Working at a repair shop I see that probably 9 out of 10 vibrations are cause by tires. If the tires are out of round then they will vibrate. Best way to check is get the front wheels off the ground and let the front wheels spin. It will be easy to notice a bad tire.

how many miles on the car?

have you looked into your wheel bearings?? the whoomp whoomp whoomp sound could be wheel bearings..

I replaced tires, axles and finally REAR wheel bearings to get rid of the same problem.
