wow that aint right... i'd have to take the tranny off to find out what caused that hole.. but ya you need to get under there an inspect the shift linkage an rear motor mount..

That hole on the bottom is normal, its a drain hole for whatever. I'm pretty sure your problem is the cluytch disc. Either a spring or springs poped out.since the tranny is going into gear with the car off I'm sayin the tranny is fine...

I had the same exact thing happin to me recently, normal driving and the area around the rivits all broke that hold the springs in. Either way your going to havr to drop the tranny...

rear motor mount is fine. shift linkage seems fine, doesnt look bent or even scuffed like it was hit.

i can get a tranny for free, but i dont have the space or know-how to put it in. how much do you guys think a mechanic will charge for installation? i'd like to get an idea before i get it towed off. i'm broke since i spent all my money to buy the car haha

thanks man. i posted my last post before reading yours, my internet is slow as hell.

i'll get it towed tomorrow and take it to the shop so they can drop the trans and see for sure. i'll let you guys know the results, here's to hoping it doesnt cost an arm and a leg.

Anything at the shop will cost, if u were local I wouldn't mind helpin out. Maybe some local guys can help you out. I'm almost positive its just the clutch.

thanks, its an aftermarket clutch(don't know brand), maybe its more prone to breaking like that, the clutch is super heavy. maybe that is a factor? i know a lot of times aftermarket parts don't have the same quality as oem.

it sucks living here in Southwest VA, not a big scene here. the guy who sold me the car might help me, he's the only other sr20 guy i know locally but he stays pretty busy with work.

thanks for the advise tho, either way, its gotta get towed, i can't drop a tranny in my apartment parking lot. and i'm not about to drive it anywhere.

thanks everyone for the input!
