Joe,Please let us know if this was indeed the problem.

Kimme said it was fine for 80% of her trip yesterday and today, but one it warms up (coolant over 180) it still does the skipping thing. With the big Koyo and additional cooling slots in the bumper, it only gets above 180 at a light or in stop and go traffic and even then rarely makes it much past 200. Even with the A/C on. She said that after she wound it out a couple of times to activate VVL, it stopped doing the skip thing. I just don't know. Will keep everyone posted.

It is getting to be a rather weird problem.. Especially because when I get it to high cams, even just for a second, it stops skipping/cutting out all together.

Recap of my drive home from Athens: The car started out fine, but driving through street traffic and getting stopped at lights got the temperature up, it was hanging around 190. Then I got to open road and was traveling a constant 60mph it cooled to 180-183 and within a 15 minute time span the car shut itself off 6 times. It would completely cut off and Id have to pull over to the side of the road and wait a minute or two before it would start up again. After that first 15min I got fed up with it, took off at the next light and got it to high cams in first and second shift. It did not cut off or skip out the rest of the hour long drive home, the temperature stayed around 180 the rest of the trip as well.

i've heard storys of fuseable links causing weird problems like this.. when they warm up they would become unreliable an cause problems.. not sure why the cam change would have any effect on it if that was the case.. except if maybe the extra little juice the alt puts out makes it stop tweekin.. idk.. just a thought..
