Gotta watch places like az, or o'reiley especially. At least here anyway. I went through 2 ps cv shafts from them. Wasn't until later I realized they kept giving me at shafts instead of mt. They kept telling me they were mt. FINALLY, one of them caught it in the system and ordered me a brand new unit for the trouble....on the house. So at least they made up for the mistake.

I have done plenty of axle seals on p10's, p11's, b14's, dsm's, one b13 and they all sit flush in the hole of the transmission. What is this metal rod you speak of? On all the cars I listed there was just a hole. I'm so confused, but glad you seemed to have it figured out.

I never had to drop any transmission or crossmembers. But hey whatever works for you guys.

You're describing stuff none of us has ever seen or experienced. You say there is a shaft that sticks out of the transmission a little that the axle end goes into? That's not right. Please take pictures for us if you can.

I will try to find pictures of what it should look like for you.

Okay this is what the driver's side should look like with the seal fully installed:

It is the "large" seal.

This is what the passenger side looks like with the old seal in the process of being removed:

It is the "small" seal and the inner diameter where the axle shaft passes through should be the same diameter as the driver's side.

Sorry I don't have a better picture of this side, but that seal sits flush with the case, and just like the driver's side, there is nothing protruding past the seal or even into the seal.

I bet they keep giving you the driver side non LSD seal for your passenger side LSD tranny. They are almost identical but not the same. I have seen this before.
