I Am Starting To Hate Car Work.
I say this not because of the cars, more so dealing with the parts people.

I ordered a motor mount for a 2002 G20 on Wed. They said 2 days. I called on Fri and they said it came in, I go today which is Saturday and find out it is not there yet. This not such a bad thing but some cars and or the customers got to be bad luck. Some people when I deal with them its always trouble for the simplest things.

I was to give this man his car today now I got to tell him the dealer messed up and maybe it will be done on Monday.

I could keep going one but it is what it is. It sucks.

I like selling used parts because I dont sell anything that I dont have. I check everything I sell so I know that it is good. Also I prefer if customers who want to do maintence work on their cars just bring me the parts because they never seem to understand that the parts are just not sitting at the dealer. You bring me parts I do my job and car is gone.

Sounds like you need someone more dependable for car parts.

I don't begin work until I have parts most of the time. I always try to tell people that things will take longer than they do, no one minds getting something sooner than expected.

People should understand that... If they bring the car to you, and you tell them that whatever they need is not on stock at the dealership its more than understandable that theres nothing you can do about it...
But yeah it sucks to have to wait for the parts, and its specially pissing when they tell you the part will be sent X day and they dont do it...

I've had a nissan dealer told me my order was in and when I drove all the way there they said not in. I believe there was another car that needed the part and they chose to use my order for it. Another thing could be if they know you're well known in the community they see you as a competitor.
I have wondered sometimes what it takes to be able to order parts from Nissan North America, like Greg does.

That sucks is there someone else you could talk to in the parts department? I know that I shouldn't talk to the parts manager at the local Nissan dealer because he always says he knows the exact part I need but I never get the right parts. Now my normal parts guy Tony knows his shit and so I just always ask for Tony.

I actually order some after market engine mount for said car and I got a passenger mount that looked like the original and could not fit and the tranny mount was the wrong bolt pattern. The only good thing is the actual rubber mount for the passenger side can be pressed to be used in the tranny side but all the shit is shit. Now the dealer giving me shit the owner giving me shit.

I am now going to tell everyone bring parts and I will install
