oil adapter plate install issues pls help
Hey thanks for the post definitely helpful for placement and ducting info. I have a oil cooler kit I bought from another sr20 member but it seems like the spline/shaft the oil filter normally screws onto is too long 1.5 inches compared to the adapter that fits inside the sandwich plate that is only 1.0 inches long. did you have to cut the oil filter spline down? the adapter cannot screw on as is. The guy I bought it from ciclon1 had it on a nx2000 the same car I am putting it on but have not heard back from him. any help appreciated.

As far as I know that extended bit is to prevent oil draining back and will need to be cut down to fit some sandwich plates

Shot him a text and we had a conversation about this part. He said it's a self explanatory install. However he is Miami right now on vacation... he said if you are still having problems by the time he gets back he will get in touch with you.

Everything is Sh!t simple except the fact that the spline is too long and the adapter that screws the sandwich plate on to the block id too short, so the threads on the spline do not reach. i'm not retarded it is just simple measurements...wait unless I am retarded? either way I am stuck for now. Thanks for your help though.

For the threads on the adapter to screw on they need to be .5 inches longer but then they are too long to actually hold down the sandwich plate.
