+1^ Welds are better than my Stillen U13 header, which was $300+. Stillen just crams the pipes ("swedge fit") into the plate instead of butting the tubes (more work) and doing nice welds. My Stillen 4:1 for the KA had all kinds of sins covered with more welding material and coating, the SSAC workmanship was excellent for 1/3 the price or less.

Just look at the 2, while the Stillen works great the workmanship was frankly crap by comparison:

These gaps on the Stillen were filled from the back side instead of starting out with a really good fit - it's like the way Huffy bikes were built compared to a top quality frame:

Don't do this, you need them all. Metal/carbon gaskets are great until heat hits the carbon in the sandwich, then it blows out - use all the bolts, you can fit w/o grinding. Main reason for my gasket blowing out IMHO was probably one bolt looser than the others.

See my pics of the gasket above...

Not really. Some **** is way overpriced, some isn't. Sometimes you pay way too much for a lesser product. Price isn't a reliable indicator of quality, period. Labor costs usually have far more to do with the end price, that seems to be the case here - materials and workmanship are very good.

IMHO this was a steal. If I had to replace it in a few years even, it would have been well worth it, especially with Hotshot folding up the tent. In July I'll have been running it for a year, and it works great.

Also you probably won't be able to use the OEM washer on the middle stud either because it won't fit with the large runner. Before anyone says "see you get what you pay for" this washer problem also existed on one of the hotshot headers too which was a helluva lot more then the $75 I paid for my header.

LOL, my washer was already ground from the Hotshot, so it was not an issue! I did not have to drill anything for the outer head studs however, it all fit - just took a little maneuvering. I just took out the radiator and fans to give myself more room to work.

Left center lower OEM washer was the one with a flat ground out of its circle, it fit fine:

for people who are having problems with the egr tube, i found if you thread it in before you bolt the primary to the head you'll be fine. then push it over the studs and have somebody put the nuts on the studs and it will bend the tube for you as you tighten it down and have no leaks.
