Car won't go into gear?
I put in a new clutch and for some reason my car will no long go into any gears when the car is on. With the car off it slides into gears fine. All clutch parts were lubed and torqued down to spec per the FSM.

Setup:
Stock 99 G20 flywheel - resurfaced
sr16ve friction disk - used
JWT "stage 2" pressure plate - new
OEM throwout bearing new with new clips

Now, as its a 99 G20 I have a hydro clutch system, I get about an inch of movement out of the slave cylinder. I do not have any visible leaks from the SC or the MC. The system is also fully bled and the pedal does not have any free play in it. Some backround on the hydro system, when doing my 5speed swap I was having a problem with filling the dry system and really didnt understand what was going on and assumed it was a problem with the clutch master. Took it apart and it really didn't go back together smoothly(IE: piston was very hard to push back into the cylinder) after that my car always had very low engagement and sometimes had to fight it into first when stopped and had grinding in reverse. I had adjusted the clutch pedal and it seemed to get a little better after I had rebled the system and then after a day or so was back to where it was.

So, I'm thinking the master is ****ed. What do you guys think?

Yes, goes into gear fine with the car off. I'm 99.9% sure I had put the disk with the side that had the hub more flush with the friction material against the flywheel. Honestly don't remember but I thought it wouldnt even sit right if it was the other way.

Lol let me tell you a little story...
Back when I had my civic I burned up my clutch being a retard.. Next day I get down drop the transmission, change the clutch everything bolts up fine.. Start it up, NOTHING will go in gear... GRIND GRIND GRIND! Was 90% sure my friend had put it in correctly due to the fact he's a mechanic.. He ended up noticing his mess up and so we had to take the whole thing apart again... It took us 6 hours the first time and 4 hours the second time.. Sure enough, the clutch disk was in there backwards...

ever tried to put a sr clutch disk in backwards? the pp wont bolt down lol.. so i doubt its that..

sounds to me like somethings wrong with the MC or possibly SC

hopefully you figure it out so you can get some good use out of that disk hobbs

You're saying that the clutch disc can't go in backwards? Like just the actual disc disc?

It will, I like the fact that I don't have to deal with springs popping out with boost .

Bump, put new hydro stuff in and it still wont go into gear. Only things I can think of now are:

A. I have a bad pressure plate
B. Flywheel was not resurfaced correctly

Edit: When I got my flywheel back from resurfacing it was stepped. Are stock flywheels flat all the way across?
