Same exact thing I thought. Really don't trust the reman. It may look brand new, but it's probably brand busted

If its no good, you are already there to get another.

That will be my recommendation to J today when he gets up to work on the car, going to have him look at the clutch pedal switch piece though. We already replaced that plastic piece on his 4 door B13 within the last two months. Didn't think to look at that.

Turned out to be a little plastic piece on the clutch pedal assembly broke of so it would not hit a little black switch on the firewall.

You can actually get down near the pedal and press it in and see if it engages that little switch if that plastic piece is missing then I'd just make something as a replacement. I duct taped a penny temporarily works great now starts every time and i now have a spare starter.

I'll have him look at this today, thanks. We had this piece snap in half in his 4 door a while back (see above)

Another good idea.

Cal,

We'll let you know what happens. Maybe our solution will help you find one.

Follow up:

His issue was related to a harness connector on the fender area under the battery, in that it wasn't fully plugged in. I'm not sure what the plug does, but I'm going to pull up the FSM and see what it's there for.

Cliff...Thanks for following up on this.
I hate when people post up here looking for answers and then dont follow up when they find their problem/fix.
Now maybe someone will search and actually find their answer before wasting a bunch of time reading useless posts.

I generally try to follow up when a solution is found.

We have another problem now, though. Best saved for another thread when we grasp the situation.

A quick fix on the plastic piece I used was a plastic license plate screw insert!!! It was a royal pain trying to reach down there to push in the little plunger to start the car.

yeah man. i just took everything apart and looked at the harness. I saw the plug was kind of sticking out so i pushed it in and it clicked. so i went to start it and it turned over

its the three plugs that are on the driver side fender area. Like right over the tranny.
