Depends on if the car will be a DD, your wallet size, and if you like having traction.

I personally love the turbo, so far it gets decent gas mileage. Your tune will really decide that, so if your tune is not right on the VE it will get crappy gas mileage too.

Turbo will be cheaper & easier to reach your power goals. At 9 psi a T25 setup should be right under 200whp. The problem with turbo is, harsher clutch and Pressure plate. Breaking clutch cables might start being a concern.

You do have to worry about the turbo heat, thus cooling in hot weather becomes harder, and using the AC doesn't help with water temps.

You also do have to worry about your piping and couplers and clamps. If not done right they will pop off.

A T25 will have 0 lag, even my T28 has minimal lag too, feels fairly NA, but the T25 becomes a flow disaster above 6500 rpm, but by that time you would make so much torque and power, there is no real reason to rev any higher.

I've worked for, nissan, mazda, gm, and toyota, as a tech. I have driven many cars with vvl/vtec. I have driven a lot of cars with turbos. I have a turbo b13. Turbo is the way to go. It is a lot more fun than something you have to wind up to make power with. The sound, the torque, is so worth it. I totally agree that vvl is easier and isn't a bad choice. Nothing worth having is ever easy.

I'll also throw this in. **** fwd. If I could do it all over again, I'd start with a better platform. Keep your car as a fun daily and put your funds into something better for going fast. I love my turbo b13, but as soon as I get a chance(a lot of money) I'm going to let someone else have it, more than likely a partout, keep my regular b13 se-r and upgrade to something else for a fun car.

I don't regret going the turbo route, it's a helluva a budget sleeper, if you get beat, chances are the other person spent at least 2x as much money.

Great points skcusloa, I'm actually considering parting out my B14 and starting fresh with a P11. This time doing everything right the first time around.

I personally don't have problems with FWD and this much power. With motor mounts and a suspension it keeps the power to the ground no problem. I'm a straight line guy though, don't care too much for twisties

Oh another thing about boost, if you have friends that like roller coasters, they will love riding with you in the car. But if your significant other (if applicable) doesn't like it, stay away from boost. Otherwise you wont be able to get on it when ever she/he is in the car.

I'm sad to say this, but it's been seriously messing me up too. I keep on thinking my posts are someone elses. The other pic was old, that was taken right after JDM headlight install, NA and all.

Budget- Don't know yet.
Knowledge- Don't know yet.
Place to work on the car- Don't know yet.
Daily driver- probably.

It's a theoretical question at this point...sorry, I don't have specifics.

Depends on what you drive daily too! I got better gas mileage with my DET in my P11 than stock DE on the highway. Boost is the way to go, NA is fun, but expensive, doesn't make cool noises, louder than boost(exhaust), no torque, and is all up top powerrrr. turbo babyyy

Boost. I agree with vadim, gas mileage depends on the tune. If your ve isn't tuned well, it will get crap gas mileage. I get great gas mileage with a t25 on a jwt ecu. Keep in mind once you get the ve, you still need to drop some coin on n1's to get to 200whp (There are exceptions yes, but in general).

Turbo can be just as reliable as n/a if you do it right. You won't feel as bad about beating up on an all motor car so you may have some piece of mind there. Don't get me wrong a fast na car is fun as i've driven a ve with n1's and a k20 swapped civic. But when I get back in my car, I know I made the right choice. Plus there's nothing like being able to turn a 2mm allen screw to make a significant increase in horsepower.
