b14 auto to 5speed swap
has anyone on here ever done this swap? how complicated was it? im in the thick of it right now and have been thinking about the wiring.. since the ecu is set for ignition only when the car is in park or neutral how will i be able to let it start in 5speed? how do i wire in the neutral safety switch for the 5speed? any suggestions?

Yes many people have done it, including me. Obviously you didn't search, there was just a thread over this a couple weeks ago.

Either get a new harness or modify the one you have. Keep searching.

well what i have read says to keep the auto harness and auto ecu. i have a 5pd tuned for the turbo so thats what i want to keep. but it looks like im going to have to send out the auto ecu to get tuned. to follow the direction in those swap threads..

No you dont need the auto ecu, you will have a cel and 8 codes stored if you keep the auto ecu in there.

I'm doing the swap now. Just finished getting the clutch pedal in yesterday. I'm switching to a stick OBD2 G20 ecu today and firing 'er up. I had to wire in the clutch interlock switch so the car will start, but it wasn't too hard. Get a stick wire harness from a GA and take out the clutch relay + wiring. Its a piece of cake with a FSM. I started a thread about it......which I need to update, lol.
