Is this battery going to work for me? Will it kill me?
In my shop that I work at we have a battery charger with a battery inside (obviously) it's very similiar to a motorcycle battery. Should I be worried about blowing it up if I just use it for a few drag racing events?

I don't really want to buy a new metal box, and install a cut off switch for my rear mounted battery so I was thinking this my be a good option for the track. I would mount it up front like a regular battery, and disconnect the rear mounted one.

Are the cca's and ca's close to a stock battery,
if they are then you should be ok, you just won't have a long reserve time (which you don't really need on the track unless you have your fans and electric wp running when the car is off)
.
I know someone that ran a gelled (AGM) wheelchair battery for 2 years in a dd (cca's and ca's were double the stock battery, and since it was a wheelchair battery it had a nice reserve)

Yeah what the CCA? I have had a wheelchair battery like that. It never died, I just ended up changing it to be safe after 3-4 years. I keep it as a back up for my Genesis, still holds a charge.

Turns out the battery is just dead lol. It has been sitting for a year or more so I don't think there is a chance of saving it. Seems like small batteries tend to have this problem. Oh well good to know I could use one similar though.
