what exactly is the "electronics" fuse for?
no one ever goes on the old forum anymore, so i decided to post here. anyways, i just found out that i'm getting a huge current draw from the electronics fuse under the dash on the left hand side. it is draining my battery if i leave the battery connected overnight. just wanted to know if anyone knows what components i should look into, and if it is even safe to drive without that fuse connected? thanks.

Where exactly is the fuse located on the fuse block? I assume this is a B13 since the B14 doesn't have an "electronics" fuse.

I wonder if he's talking about the "electronic parts" fuse. I have this in my b14. I'm also curious as to what it is for.

Weird, I don't remember seeing it in the panel door. It's under the hood then, I assume? I have a 98 so I wonder if the 98 is relabeled?

I thinks its for the stereo and such. Since I don't have stereo in my car, I use it as a 12v switch for my safc and electric oil gauge.

Its in the dash. Theres actually two of them. One gets battery power and the other gets power when the ignition is on. The ignition one is right under the blower motor fuse. I'm actually using this fuse as a power source. 98's are notorious for being weird tho.

this is on a b13. since removing the fuse, my battery is not being drained overnight any more. bad news is that the car won't start either, so i'm sure the fuse is pretty important. does any know if it completes a circuit somewhere to allow a car to start?

Looking at the fuse layout, where is it in the panel? Left or right side, and which one from the top?

There's only a few fuses that I can think of that if pulled, would prevent the car from starting

A fuse for the ECM, Inhibitor Relay, ABS, and cooling fans, which is 10A and the 4th fuse from the top left.

A fuse for the Combination Meter, Warning Lamps, Defogger, ASCD, back-up lamp, bulb check relay, ECM, a/t Shift Lock system, A/T Control unit; which is the bottom right 10A fuse.

A fuse for the Audio Control, Illumination Lamp, Clock, and ECM which is the 4th fuse from the top on the right bank, and is 10A.

The last possibility is the fuse for the Daytime light control system and ECM, which is the 3rd fuse from the top on the right bank, and is also 10A

Note, all of these are fuses that contain ECM in them, which is why I mention these are the only ones that could prevent starting the car.
