get a gauge connect it and see what you read. It might have something to do with the crank pulley since thats the only thing you changed. Also if your taking the motor out take the oil pickup tube out and clean that.

Just finished for the night still not fixed, pulled oil squirter tubes out and flushed them with brake cleaner and then with compressed air, before we put the oil squirters back on we cranked the engine over and no oil came up through the head, we even tried "priming" it by squirting oil down the holes and still nothing not even air came out, pulled pickup tube and screen and tube were clear, we also took off crank pulley and checked if keyway was there
.
Tomorrow we will pull front cover off and dissasemble oil pump
.
Not to sound like a noob but where is the best place to install the oil pressure hose for an aftermarket gauge on the sr20?, I couldn't find anything by searching

take your dummy light out and tap it for 1/8"npt and hook it up right there. Or you can use the adaptor vadim had a good write up on it.

very very light golden color under valve cover, I just put castrol syntec 10w-30 with a little lucas<5% oil stabilizer, the previous owner used conventional and only put 10,000 miles on it before I bought it, and the original owner used mobil 1,
.
Like I said above when I started the engine up with the vc off very little oil came out of the oil squirters that run above the cams

i always usefd that sice day oone and got rodknobk on my old DE

I used to use mobil 1 in my blown de till I heard everyone getting rodnock, but then some people swear by it
I now use castrol syntec 10w-30 in my 1.6 and my old de, should I use a heavier oil?
I drive 700- 1200 miles a week and usually change my oil every 3000-5000 miles and live in south florida
.
Could the mobil 1 that the previous owner used mess up the oil pump? Or was it from using mobil 1 then to conventional oil to synthetic oil again?

mobil 1 is fine and thats a really heavy weight oil imo for your application.

I think you did something wrong with the oil pump or pulley when you put it back together.

IMO, I'd run a 5w30 if you're not beating on it.

I run a 0w30 that's more like a 0w40 on the turbo car.

Did you investigate the pulley / spacer change ? I read here that this can cause problems if its not done right. ??

I read a bit about it before I switched it from the blown engine as the previous owner had problems because they forgot to put the spacer in, but I switched everything over right so that shouldn't be the problem,
.
I still haven't gotten the front cover off yet to see what happened, ive been busy at work
.
Should I flush the engine out with some cheap oil to get the metal shavings out?, or just clean the pan out good and change the oil? before I start driving it if I ever get that far, I put some magnets on the bottom of the oil pan to catch most of it
