IACV Direction?? Non Bi-Directional?
Hey,

I'm having cold start issues and was looking through some threads and the FSM. It seems the IACV(The thing under the intake manifold that has two hoses come off of it) can only be facing one way. I may have this switched around and wanted to know which way the ECU plug is supposed to be pointing? Towards the driver or passenger side?

What's even more confusing is that Nissan FAST shows the lowport and highport facing opposite directions. They are the same part # right?

it truly shouldn't matter - the cold idle valve has a element in it that closes a metal plate when it heats up, like a reverse house thermostat. if it's fried, it will stick open typically.

That being said, I've ran it both ways in my swaps and it didnt matter. Also look up vadim's thread on air regulator's for 11.99 or something like that - that's the cheapest oem ones I've EVAR seen.

Hey It's my picture

If it answer your question, I have no idle issues. Well had with that, my only idle issue is the overbored TB that leaks some extra air in, but I turned down the RPM's in the tune and I'm set .

Now about the location, I stayed true to the way it was on my old motor. Which was a low port though.

you dont need that piece of crap(air regulator) just like you dont need the iacv

However, with an ECU/TB setup that can't compensate for it, you do.

you get compressor surge at idle?

I have no problem with compressor surge and have been doing that trick for a while

No, but the throttle plate being open would disallow the bypass valve from
working properly.
