GA16DE or QG18DE?
The B14 and B15 Sentras are growing on me.

I'm thinking of snagging an SE if I can get one to have another SR20 in my clutches, but I'm thinking maybe I'll get a base 1.6 or 1.8 and do the swap (along with SE-L or Spec-V wheels and the Spec V 6spd) later.

I've seen good things about the GA16DE, including that it's a stout underdog, especially when boosted, but I've not seen anything on here about the QG18DE that comes in the regular 1.8 B15s. How do they compare?

I know the QG has 12hp and 19 more ft-lbs of tq, but I also think the B15 is heavier. I'm guessing it's not quite as smooth as the GA, even though it's torquier?

Both have some form of VTC. Is this even something to consider?

no experience with the qg18 but i've had a ga16. very solid motor. drop dead reliable and amazing gas mileage. gave me less problems than even my sr20. very smooth too and pretty torquey for a little guy. i was able to keep up with my friends hondas haha.

GA's like boost, some modded n/a ones back in the day use to give stock/very mild SE-R's a run for their money.
