That is true, but you always want to diagnose things that require the least work and are cheapest.

I mean I picked up a set of injectors because I "thought" mine were bad for the sludge monster. $50 later it's still the same, then I went turbo and couldn't even use them.

Plus it takes a minute to switch out the connecting clips, while it will take 30-1hr to remove the rail and injector, then get new O-Rings, etc. etc.

I totally agree with diagnosing correctly, but the chances of him having a failed injector are still there. If he continued the testing and didn't buy any injectors, and later found that it was in fact the injector, he'd have to deal with even more downtime, while waiting for an injector or two to come in. My god that was a lot of commas!

In my career, the thought process has been as such: It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

Ha fine fine, your point is valid too. Hence it's a good idea to stock a transmission and a clutch cable and a throw out bearing.

Sure, why not? I've got enough parts to build another motor with on hand I'll have another tranny soon, so I'll then have a spare tranny. I keep a clutch cable in my back seat (converting to Hydro soon), and I have around 5 throw out bearings in my tool chest.

It NEVER hurts to keep spares of anything you have laying around, or put away. You never know when you're going to need it.

You'd want that harness, yes. Very simple to install, but we have to hope again that it's the harness, and not the ECU. Do you have another ECU to test with?

I would grab a DMM and ohm out the injector harness from the injector clip back to the ECU side harness connector, before buying another injector harness and having the same issue.

No, no, Cliff, I'm feeling like an idiot. I moved the injector plug from inj. #2 to inj. #3 and the injector still didn't fire, so it IS the injector. Duh. Ship away! I might pick up that harness anyway since my connectors are pretty ratty looking and there's a partially exposed wire behind the #4 injector clip.
