Frame rail interior rust
Hey everyone. I'm working on some rust on the drivers side frame rail on my NX. I'm thinking battery acid started the process. On the outside I'm sanding down the rust scale then applying some POR15. The problem is there are some spots on the inside of the frame rail that have developed surface rust as well.
There is still plenty of gray left on the interior of the rail. The rail itself is still structually sound. I just would like to take care of the spots that have developed while I have the front end apart.
The problem I'm seeing is how to get inside the rail to sand the rust. Also I'm wondering what I should use as a rust preventer. There is no way I can get in the rail to apply the por15 by hand.
At the moment I don't have a spray gun, so paint application is all by hand.
I'd appreciate any ideas.
