Timing Chain
Well i am not sure when it is supposed to be changed but i have not changed it in my wife's B15 ever. My B15 has 140k on it and still run like a champ.

What are some symptoms i should look out for when changing a timing chain needs to be done

This is one of those cases of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" if it starts to go you'll hear a rattle from the head, almost like a loud lifter noise.

Chains rarely "go". It's usually the tensioner to go out. Chains normally just snap, if they're jarred.

If your engine is clean it should be good. You will hear the chain rattling a bit, especially on cold startup.

My sludge monster killed two TCT's, sludge clogged the holes and they had cracks.
