IDK much about the forces involved but I have a hard time seeing the JWT design for example caving inward like that. I run this same design on my G Coupe, lots more motor there to turn over, never a problem with only 11 lbs. SR20 version is just 9 lbs.

That cut away material approach to saving weight usually isn't such a great idea. It's like drilling holes in something to make it light vs. engineering better materials and process, it just isn't such a good idea. Of course using a drilll or machining away material costs less...
