Its great to be a member! thanks for the welcome party! ha.

Oh man, I've been looking at soo many options for building the crap outta this thing. Oh how I would love to do so. But I'm on a really tight budget and even affording to do the bare minimum to fix it is a stretch. But I'll look at the positive, at least I'm not paying labor on all this haha I'm gonna pull whats left of the motor tomorrow. The fun begins.

Just curious, would it be bad at all to hot tank my head while I've got it off without removing the valves and springs - I don't have the tool required to pull the springs out so I was thinking maybe they could just be left in. I don't see what it could hurt...

would anybody recommend that I replace the rod and main bearings? I'm not sure about it since they're still good and the tolerances wouldn't be quite right without machining the crank..... would it be alright to keep the bearings I have?

Also, how would a DET like 9.5:1 compression? (found a rebuild kit with those pistons, that's why I ask) seems like it might be pushing it but then again people turbo stock DEs with 10:1 so idk
