Resonator options on lowered cars?
Hey,

I am trying to put together a resonator setup. I have RM springs, so the 6" round resonators are not going to work for me because it will be too low.

How much resonator can I fit under my b14 w/no cat? I was thinking of maybe putting together two of the 4" resonators under the car but I didn't know how long I could fit under there.

Two Magnaflow 4" resonators would be 40" total length. Two Dynomax Bullets would be 33" total length or 36.5" depending on option.

Any other suggestions? It will be a 3" exhaust turbo back.

Thanks!

well i don't know which way would perform better but i know those bullits sound good but are loud if used without a "real" muffler. my dad is running them on his twin turbo chevy small block as mufflers and the car is actually about the same loudness with those and the dual 3" exhaust than with just downpipes. but they don't restrict the power any (which is what really matters)

Ya, I'd be using them w/a muffler as well.

ttt

Anyone else?

I have had excellent luck with the Magnaflow resonators, good sound and they seem to hold up well over time. Have them on three cars and combined with the Magnaflow perf core muffler good sound w/o restriction. My third runs a Borla muffler which sounds great but more $$$, it came on the car or I would have gone with another Magna muffler, too. Reasonably sure these are all 4 in, the tubing here is 2.5" - please ignore my disgusting cat and shields which have since been replaced, these are on my U13 with the KA, but are the same as my B13's.

Btw IDK why you'd run w/o a muffler if you're concerned about restriction. Magna perf core is still essentially a straight pipe as you can see here - you are looking at the back bend of the pipe on the other side of the muffler, i.e. you're looking straight through the entire can.

Makes a big difference in sound and the perf core just takes the edge off.

On a B13 with no cat there is 44" of space for resonators if you're not afraid to put the flex pipe before the sway bar.
I fit 42" worth on my car.
With the Road Magnets you could go with 5" round resonators but they are really hard to find so I went with 4" round stuff.

cool. I think I may try out the race bullets. Should have no problem fitting them and someone local has them and the car sounds pretty good. Plus, they're pretty cheap
