I had a prob on my nx where i was driving home from boston about halfway home the master cylinder went bad on me . Fixed it the next day and i had a leaky line also so after that was fixed everything worked great. But your problem sounds exactly the same as when my master went bad .

I'm gonna +1 to Wingman's call on air in the lines, I don't know what kind of bleeding method you are using but when you pump the brakes and build up the pressure, and then hold, and then have someone release the bleed plug on the caliper, do you have a clear hose attached to the bleed plug extended several inches above the caliper and bleed plug?

We had a very similar issue where we bled the brakes correctly 4-5 times and just couldn't get a firm pedal when the car was on, but we were just looking at the fluid coming from the bleed plug without a clear hose.

do it the same way as you but no clear hose idk why you would need this I guess to see if there is air coming out?

If you don't use a clear hose watch for the air bubbles coming out of the end of the hose you are using...by using a clear container. As long as the air bubbles continue to come out of the end of that hose attached to the bleeder air is still in the system and the brakes will not work properly.

A primary symptom of a bad master cylinder is a soft pedal and not being able to get the air out of the lines. You can bleed the brakes all you want but the pedal will never get hard. If this is the case, you are bleeding and you can't get the bubbles to stop coming out of the bleeder your master cylinder is bad...get a new one.
