It's not a worry for you. I was sort of answering your question where you asked "What if anything is the difference [between all the various internals]?". My phrasing was bad, sorry.

I would make sure when you put it together that the piston skirts do, in fact, clear the squirters (which they should but I'm always extra careful when I do things the first time).

gtir bearings are larger and the rods are beefier.

i dont think the wrist pins are the same on gtir pistons vs det pistons so the pistons wouldnt work on the rods iirc.

If you read what I made bold in his quote, you'd see that it wouldn't make sense.

He said that I'd have to worry about the oil squirters when using DET (not DE) pistons in a VE, while saying the exact opposite in the next sentence. Probably a typo, and he'd probably mean DE pistons in VE. So no misreading from my part.

But anyways, there's no DE pistons involved, nor will they.

I'm not looking for a fight :P.

I now know that the rods won't fit because the larger bearings and bottom end (which connects to the crank).

Can anyone verify that? Cause that would answer my question, and it would mean that I can only use DET pistons other than GTI-R on DE rods.
