When i had my old nx1600 auto my linkage came out of adjustment so in park it just wasnt quite pushing the park neutral switch far enough to allow the engine to start. So i had to start it in neutral until i adjusted the linkages. After that it was good to go.

Just turn the key on, press the brake, put the selector in neutral and give it a try. Anybody want to take bets on whether or not it works. I got $40 says it works.

ok try this safely, with the car up get underneath and pull the trigger wire off. then get something to bridge out the main battery to that trigger wire and see if it winds over.

taking from what everyone is saying your car must be auto

200SR, do me a favor and hook one end of some jumper cables up to the negative battery terminal and clamp the other end onto the thermostat housing. Then try to start the car.

^ Could I use a battery charger since I can't jump my car since it's in the garage ?!
And where is the thermostat housing ?! Sorry for the noob question -_-

Starter or flywheel gear damaged a possibility. Try putting the car in gear rock it back and forth acouple times then try to restart it.

No you can't. You need jumper cables. You didn't read what I wrote correctly. Read it again. You can do what I'm telling you to do with only your car and some jumper cables.

I can see by your question that you didn't follow the (great) advice in post #19. Here, read it again.

Put dielectric grease on all connections.
Starts great now.

An easy way to find the thermostat housing is to look at the negative battery terminal and follow the black wire down to the chassis where it bolts to it. It should then continue across from the frame rail to a point on the engine where it is bolted down. That's the thermostat housing. If the wire doesn't go there, that's your problem.

Instead of messing with that wire, just use the jumper cables to temporarily replace it. Then try to start the car.

I just want to make sure I'm doing this right. So I hook up the jumper cables
to the +/- terminals on the working car then hook up the other end to the - terminal on my car
and the + on the thermostat housing, correct.

No, what we're trying to get you to do is simply use your cables to replace the ground wire going from the engine block to your battery. No 2nd car required! Just clamp the negative jumper cable to your negative terminal, and the other end to your engine block. Then try to start the car. The positive cable is not used. Just the negative.

EDIT: For future reference, what you described there would cause a battery to explode. Just FYI, another reason not to do that

^ Thanks for clearing that up. I first read it and thought wouldn't the battery explode ?!
I just tried it and still nothing.
