make sure the ground from the solenoid to the starter is still good - I had a starter go bad last week that the braided wire between the solenoid and the starter went south. Replaced the ring terminal, badda bing!

*edit* It's literally a 15 min job to remove - take off airbox, 2 bolts, remove starter - inspect it, look ok? Jump it, turns over no problems? Check solenoid for clicking. Works? Check ground on battery main cable. Look good? Check fuses. Good? Check positive lead to starter (thick black and red wire - about a 4 gauge wire)

Cleaned the terminals and still not working. I'm thinking about getting a new starter
even though mine tested positive. The cars acting exactly how it was when the starter
died two years ago -_-

you checked all fuses? i would definitly check all options which you probably have before considering the starter as the culprate what test did you do to check the starter?

Battery connections looked O.K., but when I removed them, they were corroded

Cleaned up + and - battery connection, body ground near battery and thermostat
ground with sand paper.
Put dielectric grease on all connections.
Starts great now.

^I might go pick some of this up. I've never tried it before.

It won't help contact, just resist corrosion I believe.

put the car in neutral and see if it cranks then.

Jeeze this is an easy one. haha Its probably the park neutral switch for sure. Give it a whirl. If that doesnt work try the other gears as well, It might have come out of adjustment.

^That's all I'm looking for it to do. How is this stuff different from regular vasoline I wonder? I've known people just to use that for batteries.

Vasoline has a low melting temp and gets everywhere - I'd just spend the $3 and get the small tube o' grease - it goes a long way.

This happened to an older XE I used to drive. Had to be in neutral or it would just click like it didn't have enough power.
