how many of you arnet running the top timing chain guide?
ive isolated the rattling to the timing chain top guide and was wondering how many of you are not running them and have had any issues with not running them? im already using the newer style timing chain tensioner, and was going to remove it but just making sure, i know nissan did away with them, but just seeing what was up with other member not using them?

The new lowports dont come with them.. think there is a reason? As long as you have the updated tensioner then dont worry about it.

I took mine off my old DE and it blew up, but not from that. I now run it on my new DE just in case. If you're really that worried about it, replace the chain.

Just take that guide off. I had a motor few years ago that the guide actually broke and was banging around the cams. I don't need that headache again, and it's purpose for being there is negligible. You'll have no issues without it.

Take it off. Thats the first thing I did to my Avenir motor when I got it. Just be careful and don't drop any of the 2 bolts down there while you are doing that.

From what I can remember from the ghost of posts past was, the reason they did away with it was because of a redesigned chain tensioner.
