Use a 18 volt snap on. Has pulled every axle nut I've tried. crank bolts, flywheel bolts, frozen exhaust bolts. you name it.
the ti ingersoll rand is something like 700 foot pounds for a air hose gun. Its really pissed off.

The best deal for a cordless impact is the Goodyear Racing one from Pep Boys. I got mine for $50 right after Thanksgiving. They go on sale every so often for about $75.

I know several people who have/use them and no complaints.

For axle nuts I use my HF corded 1/2" impact. Worked fine on both the SE-R and the MP3.

That is probably the best deal right now for cheapo cordless impact wrenches. I've used one of those, and it works great for lug nuts.

I have the old Harbor Frieght orange impact wrench, which used to be the standard for cheapo impact wrenches. They went to a new design a couple years ago, and the new orange isn't anywhere close to the old orange. I don't know how the one in the first post compares, though.

when we compared my dewalt to Joe's Goodwrench he has...both was as usefull, but i think mine had the advantage of a bigger battery. but with most all them, as the battery wears down it is very gradual decrease in power. for a couple tire changes tho, its perfect. You can borrow mine anytime, its in the trunk of the altima almost all the time

A man like to have his own tools, you know? But thanks, I'll probably use it as much as possible when youre here until I can fit it into out budget (after Rallycross prep and tires and so on and so on...).

That looks like where I'm headed. The Dewalt seems to be the best combination of Premium quality and price.

We used the Goodyear racing one that BigB was talking about at the ARRC this year, as it was Joe's dads. It worked really well, and did hold a charge well. For the price...i think its worth getting one and keeping it in the trunk. Ive loved my dewalt tho. Got it off Jim on the other forum when he was selling them, 150 shipped...couldnt turn it down.

Ok. Here's the 2 cents. I use the Hitatchi 3/8" cordless electric impact daily (comes with charger, two batteries, and a small led attatched to the gun) and it is perfect. Not too much torque in the foreward range so that bolts are safe. Enough in the reverse mode to brake almost everything you'll use it on day to day. It's actually not mine, but I steal it every day for the convenience factor. My friend at work owns it.. The other good thing about it is that it stops when you let go of the trigger. No free-spin after you let go.

as far as crank bolts go, I usually tap the end of them to slightly crush the washer and jar the rusted (or otherwise corroded parts) apart and then hit it with whatever air impact I have. (right now, it's the central pneumatic earthquake). For everything small, the Hitatchi does the job perfectly.

Bump for last post. I was looking on Craigslist and found the same drill combo for 75 bucks.. here's the link http://raleigh.craigslist.org/tls/537577386.html

Edit:Better yet Amazon has them New for cheaper than that. http://www.amazon.com/Hitachi-DS14DVF3-14-4-Volt-Ni-Cad-Cordless/dp/B0009H4YIS/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1201381005&sr=1-21
