Operational water temperature
Hi!

My car have problems with the OEM temp gauge. I want put a autometer gauge but i need the operational water temp in degrees. I believe the thermostat open in 76.5°C (169.7°F) degrees and the fan kick in 210 degrees but i'm not sure. With this info i can identify 1/4 temp, oprtational temp (1/2) and hot!!! What is the 3/4 temp in degrees... etc...

Thanks!

The thermostat BEGINS to open @ 170*F and is fully open @ 31C/194F.
The stock gauge just below half is normal, 3/4 is hot above is very hot OH.
An autometer gauge of 240*F max would be ok.

If you're trying to match real temps to the OEM gauge and mentally (or physically) mark the gauge so you can use it accurately, you're going to be in trouble. The OEM temp gauge also moves very slowly. When temps change quickly, the gauge is literally minutes behind.

Ok, so 230 is hot, compare with the OEM is maybe 3/4...
(*The cluster temp not work and no is the sensor)

Driving on the highway during the hot Texas heat, my temp stays around 180-190. After idling for 20 min during the daytime heat my guage stays around 190-200. I am running a bone stock bluebird, with a 10" hayden and a 12" hayden fan mounted to godspeed radiator.

180 or less, too cool. Causes cylinder wash and accelerated wear. Dilutes the oil with fuel.

Range from 185 coolest to 205 max. Ideal would be 190*F-195*F

210*F and above the ECU pulls timing to protect the engine.

Thanks just want I wanted to know.I run 170-180 while driving in my ms with a 2.5inch rad 50/50 mixture and a lil water wetter so I should change the mixture to just 50/50 then for the cold months?
